IDH wanted to implement a solution that would help manage their email data and securely retain key business information, enabling them to comply with regulatory requirements regarding corporate email. The email archiving solution ensures emails are stored and indexed for easy search, meaning data which needs to be produced at short notice can be accessed and retrieved quickly without needing to do a server restore.

 

Using the “stubbing” option to filter items older than 30 days, IDH has been able to save anything from 50 to 70 per cent on storage per user on its exchange server, streamlining business processes to support greater business efficiency. Email archiving also provides a greater level of data security, and enables the 550 users of the service to retrieve emails from any given period.

As part of the deployment Network Defence installed Barracuda’s Message Archiver. The solution features an easy-to-use Web user interface, creating an administration tool for the integrated hardware and software solution. The Web user interface allows administrators to define, manage and control corporate archiving settings and rules from one central location.
